Other Useful Information about Army Environmental Restoration Advisory Board (RAB):
The Army will be establishing a restoration advisory board or RAB at the former Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant.  Every two years the Army solicits for interest in forming a RAB.  Our most recent solicitation showed there was a sufficient amount of community members interested in volunteering to serve on the RAB to form the RAB. The Army will be notifying those selected to serve on the RAB in the next few months. Information about what a RAB is and does and what RAB member responsibilities are can be found in the RAB Brochure and RAB Rule Handbook below.

RAB Rule Handbook
The Army anticipates the first Sunflower AAP RAB meeting will be held in the October/November 2024 timeframe.  All RAB meetings are open to the public to attend.  Some meetings will be identified as administrative in nature, meaning no cleanup update will be provided.  After the operating procedures and other administrative requirements are complete, the majority of the meetings will include an update on the status of the cleanup.  These Army-hosted meetings are restricted to discussions about the Army's environmental restoration/cleanup work at the former Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant.  Development and future use of the land the Army is cleaning up will not be discussed at the Army-hosted meeting, as the Army no longer owns that land.
